This Competition is open to all Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents, except employees of Mediacorp Pte. Ltd. (“Mediacorp”), VF Brands Pte Ltd (“Sponsor”), SG Cares Secretariat (“SG Cares”), and their respective immediate families. If you are below the age of 18 as of 01 October 2017, you are required to obtain your legal guardian’s/parent’s consent and agreement to your participation in the Competition on these Terms and Conditions.”
The Competition is organized by Mediacorp, with the support of Timberland and SG Cares. Participants must submit to Mediacorp via the official website for the Competition their shoe design entries for the Competition.
A panel of judges shall shortlist the top 10 designs (the “Top 10 Designs”). The shortlisted contestants will be notified to collect from Mediacorp one pair of shoes each. Each shortlisted contestant must then adapt his/her design onto the pair of shoes provided and then submit the completed pair of shoes to Mediacorp by the deadline specified by Mediacorp. All 10 pairs of completed shoes must be returned to Mediacorp and shall belong solely to Mediacorp. Both members of the public and a panel of judges will then decide on the winners from the Top 10 Designs. Public voting will make up 50% of the score while the panel of judges’ votes will make up 50% of the score. All 10 shortlisted contestants must attend the SG Cares Carnival event on 13 January, 2018 (or such other date as may be notified by Mediacorp) for the announcement of the winners.
Participants are to use the downloadable template as the base design.
Designs are to be submitted in soft copy with at least 300 dpi resolution (either PDF, GIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP or TIFF format), a design rationale and contact details (Full Name, NRIC Number and Contact Number).
Each contestant can submit one entry ONLY.
All entries must be participants’ original work, have not been in production or otherwise previously published or exhibited.
The design including picture, icon, symbol within, shall not in any way infringe any third party’s right, including but not limited to copyright, logos, trademark, or other proprietary rights.
The top 10 shoe designs will be judged based on originality, creativity, aesthetic appeal, functional and emotional aspects of the designs; the products are considered for their degree of innovation, aesthetic qualities and choice of materials.
A panel of judges shall select the top 10 shoe designs. The winning designs will be determined from the top 10 designs via public online voting (50%) and panel of judges (50%).
The winning design will be announced on 13th January 2018 during the SG Cares Carnival at Our Tampines Hub.
The top 10 shoes will be sold at Timberland selected outlets. The winning design will be mass-produced in the form of drawstring bags and sold at Timberland selected outlets. Part of the net proceeds from the sale of the drawstring bags will be donated to Community Chest. There is a total of $15,000 worth of prizes to be won.

Ownership of the design goes to Mediacorp Pte Ltd.
