Born into poverty in rural Nepal, Indira Ranamagar understood what it was like to be deprived of certain privileges that a child should enjoy â freedom, education and proper nutrition. After founding Prisoners Assistance Nepal in 2000, she has grown the organization to care for over three hundred children rescued from prisons in addition to providing services to over seventy jails across the country. The buffalo wagon travelling library is a project that takes prison children on book trips where storytelling, craft activities and gifts galore play a big part in compensating for a childhood lost, as these children spend a large part of their lives living in prison with their incarcerated mothers.
